If you’re lifting your 80 series Land
Cruiser more than 2 inches over stock, your axles will begin to shift
sideways as the panhard rod angle gets steeper in relation to the chassis.
The higher the lift the more pronounced the movement. This shift can cause
handling issues that are especially noticeable when cornering and the axles
move in opposite directions as the vehicle experiences body roll. Heavy duty
anti-sway bars can help minimize this effect, but it is advisable to realign
the axles to center with the use of adjustable panhard rods.
The front panhard rod from 4+Plus is made by taking an OEM Toyota front
panhard rod, cutting the upper end off, welding on a super beefy threaded
female section, and adding a threaded male section with a jamb nut that
features a 1" Teflon Lined, Chrome Moly Spherical rod end with a static load
rating of 82,200 lbs. Custom Stainless Steel misalignment bushings allow for
resistance free travel. These panhard rods retain an Old Man Emu
polyurethane or factory Toyota rubber bushing at one end to help absorb
shock and vibration. Black powder coated. Will fit stock or lifted 80
series. Assembly required . Sold each. Core charge on front panhard rod
refunded when your OEM panhard rod is received .
It doesn't get any better than this. The rear panhard rod from 4+Plus is
made from 1-3/8" by 1/4" wall DOM tube and features a 1" Teflon Lined,
Chrome Moly Spherical rod end with a static load rating of 82,200 lbs.
Custom Stainless Steel misalignment bushings allow for resistance free
travel. Custom turnbuckle allows adjustment without removal from vehicle to
realign axle to vehicle if needed. These panhard rods retain an Old Man Emu
polyurethane or factory rubber bushing at one end to help absorb shock and
vibration. Black powder coated. Will fit stock or lifted 80 series. Sold
each. Assembly required. No core charge on rear panhard rod.
