Tandem Brake Master Cylinder Conversion Kit for Pre 7/1970 FJ40/45
 

On FJ40’s built before 7/1970 there is a reinforcing ridge on the firewall between the Clutch Master Cylinder and the Brake Master Cylinder. The original brake master cylinder is a single outlet, non power-assist type that feeds 8 wheel cylinders. We offer a Booster/Master conversion kit for this vehicle that uses a spacer to move the booster beyond the firewall ridge. Problem is this kit will only fit on vehicles that have been converted to a V-8 engine. The original 6 cylinder engine has it’s intake manifold and carburetor right where the master cylinder in this kit ends up. For customers that are converting to disc brakes, or simply want better braking we have put together a kit that adapts a Wilwood dual outlet(tandem) brake master cylinder to the original firewall location. Kits include residual valves matched to disc/disc, disc/drum or drum/drum configurations. Kits also include a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve to tune rear brake intensity, tubing, slip nuts, and a pushrod. Installation requires tubing cutter, flaring tool, and tubing bender.
