High Volume Water Pumps for Chevy V8

Man-A-Fre carries these steel high volume water pumps in either short or long nose configurations for use with small block Chevy conversions. These high performance water pumps start with a high quality steel casting that uses a large diameter shaft and heavy duty bearings for reliability and long life.
The high volume water pump features an improved efficiency impeller that increases coolant flow up to 30%. This helps to prevent hot spots and steam pockets in the block as well as improving flow through the radiator.
To realize the full benefits of these water pumps they must be used in conjunction with a high flowing thermostat. The high flow thermostat we offer is engineered to warm the engine to the proper operating temperature without making it hot enough to loose power. This unit also features a balanced sleeve thermostat designs the increased flow generated by a high volume pump can actually attempt to hold the thermostat closed. The "balanced sleeve" design equalizes the pressure exerted on the thermostat allowing its operation to be solely regulated by cooling temperature.
