This kit is designed to mate a Chevy Small
Block V-8 to the stock Land Cruiser 3 speed transmission as found on
1963-1973 Land Cruisers. The conversion components are manufactured to
provide the best possible engine location with the least amount of
modifications. The adapter for mating the stock 3 speed tranny is a simple
spacer plate which does not require any special transmission modifications.
The engine mounts are made for either bolting or welding into the existing
frame rails, can be adjusted for various engine positions, and feature a
unique design that provides a positive means of holding the engine to the
frame, while cushioning shock and engine vibrations. With these mounts it is
impossible to separate the engine from the frame without shearing the bolts.
The rear support for the drivetrain consists of a special crossmember that
bolts to the back of the Toyota transfer case and extends outward to the
frame rails. To install this rear crossmember there will be some welding
required due to the large holes in the frame. To position the engine with
the proper firewall clearances it is required to relocate the transfer case
forward a minimum of 3-1/2". This can be accomplished by reversing the front
and rear drive shafts. |
