Our goal in building these engines is to supply an engine with the broadest possible power band specifically suited to the type of driving done in a Land Cruiser, while still running on pump gas with increased fuel economy, and reliability. Man-A-Fre Hi-Performance engines deliver massive low-end torque coupled with an ability to accelerate that will leave you wondering if you still have a 6 cylinder under the hood. So if you're planning on hauling heavy loads, towing, doing heavy off-roading, want to easily pull freeway speeds, or simply want the best running 2F or 3F engine available for your Land Cruiser, these are the engines you are looking for. Engine blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, connecting rods and appropriate parts are hot tanked in an acid bath to remove most sludge, and debris. They are then baked to dry any residual unwanted materials. After drying comes shot peening to remove dried material, aid in inspecting for cracks, and relieve stress. Cylinders are bored and honed by a machine that uses the crankshaft bore for mounting, and alignment, thus assuring cylinders are perfectly round and exactly perpendicular to the crankshaft center line, unlike machines that use the top of the block for alignment, which allows irregularities in the block surface to be translated into irregularities in bore alignment. This precise alignment reduces friction and vibrations in your engine, and promotes better ring sealing and longer ring life. Crankshafts are magnifluxed, checked for straightness, ground and polished to Toyota specs, then balanced with resized connecting rods, pistons, pins, rings, flywheel**, and front pulley.*** All lifters, oil pump, freeze plugs, rod bearings, main bearings and camshaft bearings are replaced. Cylinder heads are magnifluxed, surfaced, and have all valve guides replaced. Valve seat grinders in common use can yield rough, imprecise valve seats leading to poor sealing and a relative loss in performance and economy. Specialized machinery that uses 5 carbide blades to precisely cut seats to three angles is used, yielding a smooth precise seat surface for optimum sealing. Valves are matched to individual seats, and tested with a device that measures each ports vacuum holding ability. There is simply no other engine you can buy that has the features, and the attention to detail as these. Engines are sold F.O.B. Simi Valley, CA on an exchange basis. 3F engine cores are in limited supply, call for availability. Core charge refunded only after tear down and inspection, and block, crankshaft, and cylinder head are found to be rebuild able. Engine core must be of same type purchased. We highly recommend the use of one of our engine oil cooler kits with these engines. Compression ratio for 2F is 9.0:1, and 9.2:1 for 3F. We do not build F engines due to inadequate oil flow design. Engines are warranted against defects in materials, and workmanship for 12 months, or 12,000 miles. Use of Premium grade fuel required. *Billet camshaft available for 2F versions only. **Flywheel not included in cost of engine, if customer cannot supply, MAN-A-FRE will supply at additional cost. ***Front pulley not included in cost of
