Old Man Emu 60 Series Suspension Kits

From basic to full deluxe kits, Man-A-Fre offers a variety of Old Man Emu suspension kits to fit your budget and your load carrying needs. Installation of one of these kits will deliver extended wheel travel, enhanced load carrying capability, and a dramatic improvement in handling and ride quality both on and off road. The Deluxe kits are one of the most dramatic single improvements you can make to the drivability of your 60 series.

Our basic kits have the essentials to get you started with 4 Old Man Emu DAKAR leaf springs, 4 matched Old Man Emu long travel Nitrocharger shock absorbers, 2 rear center bolt spacers and 16 polyurethane spring bushings.

Our Deluxe kits have it  all, 4 Old Man Emu leaf springs, 4 Old Man Emu long travel Nitrocharger shock absorbers, 24 polyurethane spring/shackle bushings, 2 rear center bolt spacers, a full U-bolt kit, 4 greasable anti-inversion shackles, 4 greaseable spring pins, 2 extended front sway bar links, and an Old Man Emu steering dampener. Both the basic and deluxe kits are available in 3 different load ranges to suit your specific requirements. Kits will deliver an average of 2-1/2" of front lift and 3" of rear lift.

Our “Stock/Light Loads” kits are designed for gasoline engines with up to 110lbs of additional weight on the front end and for general light loading in the rear cargo area. These kits use the 5 leaf CS003F front DAKAR springs and the single stage CS017 rear DAKAR springs. Our Medium-Heavy kits are designed for vehicles with 110-240lbs on the front, and medium loads up to the rated GVW weight rating of the 60 series. These kits use the CS004F 6 leaf DAKAR front spriings, and the dual stage CS004R with 6 leafs in the main stack and 2 load leafs for load support.

Our Heavy Load kits are for vehicles carrying serious weight on both the front and rear of the vehicle. This kit is more appropriate for full expedition level vehicles that are heavily loaded at all times. Front springs are 7 leaf CS005F DAKAR springs, and CS005R rears with 7 leafs in the main stack, supported by 2 load leafs.
Kits are for  either “Early”80-85 60 series with 16mm rr shock pins, or “Late” 86-90 series with 19mm shock pins. It is best to check your rear shock pins before ordering. Although not listed here we offer a customized version of our medium kit with a modified CS004R DAKAR leaf spring w/5 leafs in the main stack supported by 2 load leafs. This lighter rear dual stage spring tends to yield the best overall ride quality of all the kits listed with the ability to carry loads. It also tends to give a more level stance front to rear than the other kits which tend to lift the rear higher than the front.
