If you own a Land Cruiser with a 2F or 3F 6 cylinder engine, and are serious about building a hi- performance engine this is where you should start. These pistons offer the most satisfactory overall performance improvement for the money and time invested. Increasing the compression is one of the only engine modifications that increases both low end torque and top end power. Whether your cylinder head is bone stock, or ported and polished, the results are the same...increased performance and fuel economy at every rpm. Man-A-Fre's Forged, High Compression pistons are made of forged, high silicone content alloy for much greater strength than stock cast pistons. Forged pistons are inherently stronger than cast pistons due to alloy material density. High silicone content for maximum hot strength and dimensional stability. For all this good news you knew there had to be a trade-off, and it is a simple one...heat. When you produce more power, you also produce more heat. Controlling this heat is, however, rather simple. First your cooling system must be in excellent shape, to this end we recommend the use of one of our billet aluminum radiators coupled with a low temperature thermostat. We also recommend the fitment of one of our oil coolers when using our High Compression pistons. You will also have to run Premium grade fuel with these pistons. Available compression ratios are, 9.0:1 for 2F pistons, and 9.2:1 for 3F pistons. Pistons are available for Early 2F with large combustion chamber, late 2F with small combustion chamber, and 3F engines. All pistons are 1mm (.040 inch) oversize, and have ring grooves to fit 2F piston rings, either DEVES (recommended) or Toyota (not included). Pistons come with fitted wrist pin, and are sold individually.
