this is it. Our Shackle Reversal Kit will make the greatest
improvement for the money invested on your 40 series suspension. This kit
will improve the ride, axle articulation, and control of your vehicle as
much as a full suspension kit, but for much less money. When combined with a
full suspension system, the improvement in ride quality and control is awe
inspiring. One of the biggest problems with the stock suspension of a FJ40
is that the shackle is at the front of the spring and the solid hanger is at
the rear. As the spring is compressed, it flattens and lengthens pushing the
axle up and forward into the obstacle it is trying to get away from. By
mounting the shackle at the rear of the spring and the solid hanger at the
front, the axle now moves up and to the rear, away from the obstacle in its
path . This gives a much smoother and controlled ride, as the front
suspension is no longer fighting the terrain, but absorbing it through the
shocks and springs. There are other Shackle Reversal Kits on the market, and
we wanted to point out the differences that we feel make ours the best unit
available. First, our front spring pin hanger is designed to actually
increase your approach angle by up to 12 degrees due to its ramp type shape
that slopes to the rear, (not front like other kits on the market, which
will actually decrease your approach angle. Our kits feature the heaviest
construction on the market, as we expect you rock crawlers to use our kit as
a ramp to get over boulders. Our kit is designed for the front leaf spring
to be flipped, while keeping the short leg of the spring with the solid
hanger, and the long leg with the shackle for proper spring deflection. Our
upper shackle hanger is made of super thick tubing that is machined and
honed for precise bushing fit, preventing slop, which can be seen in other
kits. Kit includes 4 new spring/shackle hangers, 2 bump stop spacers, grade
8 mounting hardware, and instructions. Kit will raise the front of your
vehicle approximately 1-1/2.
