FJ Cruiser Skid Plate Kit (FJSPKIT)
 
1.Verify that you have received all parts and hardware with your order. Please do this before dis-assembling your vehicle. Parts will include:
 
* One front, one middle, and one rear skid plate section with cross-member.
* Two heavy wall spacers
* 3 - 3/8" bolts, with matching washers and lock-washers.
* 12 - 8mm x 25mm bolts with matching washers and lock-washers.
* 2 - 8mm x 40mm bolts with matching washers and lock-washers.
 
Note: We supply new hardware with the complete kit, but many of the OEM Toyota bolts may be re-used if you desire.
 
2.Remove factory skid plates and tube braces from vehicle.
 
3.Fit new cross-member into existing exhaust and brake clip frame holes. The bolts will thread right into the frame. One of the clips will not be re-used. Use picture reference.
 
4.Install middle (transmission) skid plate, overlapping the rear skid plate. Install 4 8mm bolts through both plates. The front of the middle plate will use the longer 40mm bolts and spacers. Support the weight of the middle plate with a jack stand, do not install the front bolts yet.
 
5.Install the front (engine) skid plate, overlapping the transmission plate. Install the front two bolts into pre-existing holes. Tighten front and rear bolts.
